Africa is big. It’s bigger than you think.  It’s 30 million square kilometers; 3x the size of the United States.  Or put another way China, India, the lower 48 states of the US and Europe would all fit inside Africa. But sometimes numbers don’t mean much and it’s when actually traveling around Africa you get a sense of the surprisingly large distances.
