No matter how big the brain gets, there's always going to be a need for a "wisdom keeper". Asset management isn't going away, but it's going to change in a way where there's less value on strategy formation and a lot more on story telling and making sense of what the ai is doing. Including risk management. We're always going to need a human to point a finger to

This is terribly exciting. Look forward to seeing YWR MCP grow. Have you played around with Claude Finance plug-ins? Some of the 'Skills' are excellent. I am looking forward to stacking YWR on top. https://www.valuebyraph.com/weekly-portfolio-dashboard/ This portfolio checker on Claude is also highly recommended. Claude x YWR full suite 🤝

I need to try the Claude Finance plug-ins! Thank you for the tip. 'Skill-stacking'

Stocks follow earnings growth. Stevie has a cool functionality. One of the things I ask it, is to read earnings transcripts and try to project earnings going forward and what the current market prices are reflecting. It gives a margin of safety price and builds a model based on multiple projections of future earnings growth which make it valuable in putting limit orders at reasonable prices.

Sheesh! That's creative. A mini-Monte Carlo simulation. I should create that as a tool.

i'm starting to get AI more and more like an addictive drug. And the dealers are subsidizing it by giving it away for free. No, i'm not crazy. Just saying that we turned "google" into a verb and it's just a matter of time AI will make us forget how we did things. Don't get me wrong, i'm using it daily and i like it. But i do forsee an impact and it frightens me a bit.

Also, investing/trading is about having an edge. Wouldn't these tools on Robinhood and IBKR give us the feeling we have edge but in reallity we really don't. And at the end of the day it's the intermediary that takes a cut on each trade that's making the real money?

Maybe over time people will develop more creative strategies which involve plugging in the research and Substacks they subscribe to.

From the YouTube videos I've seen a lot of the trading is technical rules based and doesn't seem to be that focused on edge. 'If the 60 day does this and the 90 day does that...'. Although I don't know why you need Claude to do that.

Sometime in the past couple years my broker converted to zero commission and supports fractional shares. And now they offer a "roll your own ETF" feature where you build a virtual fund and buy and sell it in one go. Enabled by the no commish and fractional shares. Now put AI on top (yes they support MCP) ...

Wow. 'Roll your own ETF'.. I need to think how they are doing that. But it's super cool. And yes, like you say, the AI then manages it for you.

Me too, now it’s time to check how it works ;-)

Does it work with Perplexity also?

or Will it work with Perplexity also?

Was '/initiate coverage' (a Claude plug in command) on a stock and Claude resorts to YWR to resolve ticker symbol and Score without me asking. Quite fascinating on autonomous 'skill-stacking'.

Erik's avatar

Is it using the ticker resolver for other tasks?

Not that I am aware. Will play around and report back if there's anything interesting under the bonnet
